Small yard re-slopes often start around $1,500 when access is easy and little material leaves the site. Import fill, haul-off, and sod reset are extra lines.
A house pad with compaction checks, swales, and a concrete handoff is a different job even if both are called grading.
What changes the number
Clay that is too wet to compact, tight oak lots, and long haul to a dump all add days. Coastal and river-parish sites add storm windows.
Compare quotes by finish tolerance, haul assumptions, and who owns the next-trade handoff. The lowest number usually hid one of those.
- Ask whether sod or seed is in the grade price.
- Ask how moisture delays are handled.
- Ask what proof-roll or inspection the pad is aiming for.
