What the site needed
Shop and barn lots fail in the first wet season when the pad looks flat but still throws water toward the door. This job was about slope, a defined walking line, and dirt that would compact instead of pumping.
Work started with a graded strip along the wall, then fabric and stone in the path so the finish would hold traffic without becoming a mud trough.
How it still shows up in quotes
We still separate finish grade from decorative hardscape. If the dirt is wrong, the path is just an expensive way to hide a drainage miss.
